How to Choose a Youth Helmet

When cyclists, skateboarders, and roller skate athletes are moving at high speed, they are prone to collision accidents and cause injuries, among which the athletes often suffer the most severe head injuries. Protecting their heads and reducing accidental injuries caused by collisions in these sports has become an urgent problem for growing teenagers, where the importance of sports helmets has also become prominent. So how to choose youth small helmets for teenagers?

First, it must be certified by the quality inspection agency. We must choose brand products with full marks, precise patterns, clean appearance, and a high reputation, such as certificate, trademark, factory name, factory address, production date, specification, model, product name, and other details. We must try our best to purchase recent products, especially new products that have passed the inspection by the statutory quality supervision and inspection department. If necessary, you can check the helmet inspection report.

Secondly, we should pay attention to the material of the sports helmet. In the manufacture of sports helmets, EPS foam is generally used inside, and the outer shell is usually made of materials such as PC, ABS, and PVC. Different types of helmets require different materials, and the material determines whether the weight, strength, and shape of the sports helmet are diversified. The athletes should choose according to their own needs. EPS is called foamed plastic, which is divided into primary foaming and secondary foaming. The primary foamed EPS has a high density and hardness, which is generally used in ritzy bicycle helmets; the secondary foamed EPS has low density and hardness and has small spherical bubbles, which is a standard shock-proof foam used in electrical packaging. The secondary foamed EPS will also be applied in guarding helmets, which is considered a better-quality product.  PC is light, non-toxic, odorless, and good in resistance, which is generally used in ritzy helmets, but ABS and PVC materials are not as good as PC because of their heavyweight and impact resistance, so they are usually applied to guarding helmets.

Thirdly, sports helmets should be suitable for teenagers. We should choose the right youth helmet sizes, which should fit well, so as to ensure that the helmet is not easy to slide in the event of a collision and protect the head to the utmost extent.
